Though fast food is convenient and tasty, it is not always the best choice. This is especially true when you are in a hurry or just want a McDonald’s burger or a Chick-fil-A sandwich.
There are many ways to change your favorite fast food orders so that you can still eat the food you love while sticking to your nutrition plan because you want to cut down on calories and carbs.
It is hard for me to eat too many calories and carbs every day, but every once in a while I love a Big Mac from McDonald’s.
There is nothing that will stop me from wanting a Big Mac when the urge strikes, so I was thrilled when I learned about this clever trick. That is what I had to do after seeing @LORAfied share the tip on her Instagram page.
How to Order a Low Carb Big Mac Salad
She told me to get a Big Mac without the bun and extra salad to cut down on calories and carbs.
They will give you the “burger” in a plastic dish that looks like a salad. Lore said that this gives the burger 330 calories, 6 grams of carbs, and 18 grams of protein.
McDonald’s says that a small Big Mac has 590 calories, 46 grams of carbs, and 25 grams of protein.
Because one of my biggest issues about Big Mac burgers is that the buns can get soggy from all the sauce on top, I thought this was really tasty. I liked getting it without the bun a lot.
I think the next time I will ask for more pickles to make it a little crunchier.
The burger patties were not warm when I sat down to eat them, but it was clear that they were warm when they were put on top of the lettuce because it had softened a bit. You can always ask for the lettuce on the side if you would like it to be crunchier.
