Low-income families can breathe easier thanks to federal government stimulus programs. The help that sprung up during the pandemic has been maintained with new programs, and many households are able to make ends meet with the extra money that comes in.
The Sacramento Family First (FFESP) pilot economic support program started in California at the end of 2024. It will give 200 chosen families a direct payment of $725 every month to help with the well-being of their children and reduce economic inequality.
Parents or legal guardians of African American, American Indian, or Native American children between the ages of 0 and 5 can be sure to get money from this program.

In order to get this benefit, you must meet certain income levels and have a home in the state that can be verified. If a family moves out of California and is found to no longer meet the FFESP’s requirements, payment could be stopped before the end of the year-long program.
When is Sacramento Family First’s January payment?
The Sacramento Family First program’s goal is to improve the health and well-being of children in eligible families and reduce economic inequality. The program began as a pilot for 200 people, who will each receive a direct payment of $725 every month for a year, from December 15, 2024, to November 15, 2025.
This means that the first payment of 2025 will be sent directly to people whose bank accounts are linked to their tax returns on January 15, 2025. If the information is not available, a paper check will be sent to the address that was given.
