Following their abandonment outside of a local animal shelter earlier this week, nine Doberman pinscher puppies will soon be available for adoption in the city of Los Angeles.
In the aftermath of the canines being discovered in boxes outside of the East Valley Animal Shelter, the Best Friends Animal Society decided to take in the puppies.
Who is a member of Best Friends, “They said, ‘We just got nine puppies dumped on our front lawn, what are we going to do?'”
“They are popping up crates in the hallway all the time to find places for the dogs,” Newman said at the shelter, which is overcrowded. “They are trying to find places for the dogs.”
According to Best Friends, puppies are more likely to become unwell when they are housed in shelters, which puts them at risk of being put down and sometimes even killed.
Following the collection of the dogs by Best Friends, the animals came in for medical attention and vaccinations.
They are currently being cared after by foster families as they wait to be spayed and neutered. Following that, they will be open for adoption with the public.
