Things have not gone well for Ball State.
But it has yet to beat an FBS team. It lost by three points to Central Michigan and Western Michigan, was thrashed by James Madison and Miami, and will now go on the road to play Vanderbilt and Northern Illinois.
It needs a win, and this one better be it.
All four FBS teams that Kent State played beat them, including St. Francis of Pennsylvania. In its loss to Eastern Michigan, the team did show some offense.
It now has a game that it wants to win before three of the next four games are away from home.
