The Michigan State Spartans gave an interesting report on Monday about their Week 5 game against the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes, which will air on Peacock at 7:00 p.m. ET.
The Buckeyes have a 37-15 series lead over the Spartans going into Week 5’s game. This will be the 53rd time that these two Big Ten teams have played each other. Also, Ohio State has won the last eight meetings and ten of the last thirteen.
Michigan State’s last win over Ohio State was in 2015, when kicker Michael Geiger made a 41-yard field goal with seconds left to give the Spartans a 17-14 win at Ohio Stadium.
In terms of this season’s game, it will be the 30th night game ever played at Spartan Stadium. The team has a 21-8 record when playing at night along the Red Cedar River.
Many thanks to new head coach Jonathan Smith, the Spartans have grown a lot. However, they will need all the help they can get this fall to beat a loaded Ohio State team that wants to get back to the top of the league and college football in general.
Before their game at Spartans Stadium, both teams will play games in Week 4.
On September 21, Michigan State will play the Boston College Eagles in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. The game will be shown on the ACC Network. The Ohio State Buckeyes will play the Marshall Thundering Herd at Ohio Stadium at noon ET on the same day.
