Prediction, Game Preview, and Odds for Houston vs. Cincinnati

Both Cincinnati and Houston had a rough start to the Big 12 season last year. This time around, both teams need this.

It is been better for the Bearcats. The 2023 season was meant to be a rebuilding year, but this year’s team is playing better, especially on defence.

Three of the next four games, though, are away from home. The next two are at Texas Tech and UCF.

The Cougars lost badly to UNLV, but they fought hard against Oklahoma. This is the first of three road games in the next four days.

Why Houston Will Win

So far, the pass defence has been great.

The offence might have some trouble getting going, and there is not much of a pass rush. However, the defence has not let anyone get to 60% passing and has not given up more than 175 yards.

Their offence is really strong, but the defence is giving up more than 300 yards every game.

Houston needs to loosen up a bit, but they will get the passing yards they need. But…

Why Cincinnati Will Win

The offence for the Bearcats has been great. In the two wins, the running game gained more than 200 yards. In the tough loss to Pitt, the passing attack was strong, and the team should be able to move in any way it wants.

It has not been clear so far that Houston’s offence can keep up. This is because their offensive front is not blocking well enough, letting too many plays happen in the backfield.

Cincinnati does not have a great pass rush, but it is good enough to make a difference.

Houston vs Cincinnati: Who Will Win

Cincinnati will move to 3-1 and be almost 4-0 in a very quiet way.

The offence will be a bit better and can do a lot more. The Houston defence will try to keep it close, but the other team will not be able to do that.

There will not be an offensive battle, but there will be a good run when the two teams trade blows.

In the second half, the Bearcats will have a few more good runs that lead to points.
