The price of goods and services, especially food, keeps going up, which makes it harder for low-income families to make ends meet. The inflation that has been going on for a few months is not going away.
The federal government has set up a number of programs to help the economy, which are helping people all over the United States in very important ways.
In Sacramento, the capital of California, a pilot program called Family First (FFESP) helps low-income families by giving them a $725 stimulus check every month.
Family members will need to meet certain requirements set by the FFESP in order to get these benefits.
This money comes from a statewide block grant given by the California Department of Social Services.
It has been found that there are too many black or African American children in foster care.
Data from Sacramento County, which was shared on fox40.com, shows that black children in Sacramento are 4.6 times more likely to have a Child Protective Services claim investigated and 4.5 times more likely to be taken away from their families.
Who qualifies for the stimulus check in California?
The Sacramento Department of Child, Family, and Adult Services says that living in one of the following zip codes is a must if you want to get this stimulus check: 95815, 95821, 95823, 95825, 95828, or 95838.
Families that want to get this benefit must have at least one child under five years old and a household income of at least 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). They also can not be enrolled in any other guaranteed income programs.
These are the steps to follow to be eligible for the $725 stimulus check:
