An eighth arrest has been made in a years-long investigation into alleged theft and racketeering at one of Florida’s largest homeowner associations.
The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office announced charges against the Hammocks Homeowners Association’s former accountant on Friday as part of an ongoing investigation.
Prosecutors say that some HOA board members and their relatives were using fake companies to pay vendors with association funds that were meant for themselves and their friends.
From October 2018 to November 2022, Jesus Cue worked as a business and accounting consultant for the Hammocks HOA board. Prosecutors say that during that time, Cue got paid $644k by vendors.
The State Attorney’s office says that three of the fake companies named Cue’s Worldwide Business Solution Corp. as their registered agent and got nearly $500,000 from the HOA as vendor payments.
The state’s attorney general said in a statement, “No homeowner should have to worry about how their HOA is handling the association’s funds.”

According to Chauca, his wife told Cue to make a secret salary for herself under Albri Consulting without Chauca’s permission, the prosecutors say.
“Our look into the thefts at the Hammocks HOA has shed light on a crime that may be happening all over our state,” Fernandez Rundle said.
“People who think that a HOA’s funds are open for grabs have made a very big mistake.” The arrest today should make it very clear.
The Hammocks HOA is in charge of 40 communities with more than 6,500 units in West Kendall. It is the biggest homeowners association in the county.
Cue is the eighth person to be arrested in connection with the theft. He is accused of racketeering, laundering money, and planning an organized scheme to steal more than $50,000.
Theft of more than $2 million in resident funds was the charge against several current and former board members in 2022.
