With a 4-5 record and a three-game winning streak, UCLA is on a roll after a rough 1-5 start.
The defense has been great in close wins over Rutgers, Nebraska, and Iowa. Now there is a real chance to go bowling, since USC looks like it could be beat and Fresno State is a game that could be won in the last game of the regular season.
In Jedd Fisch’s first season, this was supposed to be a bit of a makeover. Now, the team that played for the national title early this year might not make it to a bowl game.
The Huskies have lost three of their last four games. If they lose this, they will have to beat Oregon to get the trip and goodies.

Why UCLA Will Win
What does UCLA do that is so good?
Over the course of the season, the defense has been strong against the run. However, recently, it has been making more important stops. It is been a little different since the passing attack turned it up a notch.
In the last four games, Ethan Garbers has thrown for 200 yards or more four times.
His midrange throws are connecting, and even though UCLA makes a lot of mistakes (they turn the ball over too often and get flagged too often), they make the right plays at the right times with a much more confident team. But…
Why Washington Will Win
Washington has the third best pass defense in the country.
Of course, that is because the Dawgs’ run defense is being smashed—Washington is getting hit for way too many yards per carry—and because they were thrown at by USC and Penn State two weeks ago, but this group is holding up well.
It will only take a few steps. Make midrange throws, keep the chains moving on third downs against the worst defense in the country, and…
UCLA vs Washington: Who Will Win?
Really, what does UCLA do that is so great? Washington’s offense is not getting off the field fast enough, and they are stopping them on third down.
Washington does lose when it gets run on, though. When giving up 175 yards or more, it is 0-4; when it doesn’t, it is 5-1. UCLA ran well against Iowa, but they did not go over 140 yards on the ground any other time.
The Huskies finally get their sixth win at home.
