Melania Trump is getting ready to be First Lady of the United States for the second time.
Things are a little different for the Trump family now than they were eight years ago in terms of their family. At this point, Barron, Melania and Donald’s 18-year-old son, is a freshman at New York University in Manhattan.
According to a new report from the New York Post, Melania will continue to help Barron get used to college life even after her husband is sworn in as Commander-in-Chief in January.
The Post reported that a Trump family friend said Melania will be “a part-time first lady—while being a full-time mother and wife” during Donald’s next four-year term.
“She will be the first lady, but only if she wants to be,” the source told the Post. “She will take care of the important things.” But there was no ladies’ tea and very few or no interviews.
“She thinks winning is the most important thing,” the source said. “The rest she can do however she wants.” “In terms of her duties at the White House, she is really in charge.”
The Trump family has homes in both Mar-a-Lago, Florida, and Trump Tower, Manhattan. Barron is reportedly living in Trump Tower while he is in his first year at NYU.
Last month, Melania said of her son, “He loves his classes and his teachers.” “Everything is going well for him, and he is loving being back in New York City.”
Melania has already turned down one event, and her husband is still just the president-elect.
This week, she turned down tea at the White House with Jill Biden, who is currently First Lady. After Donald Trump won the 2016 election, she had gone to a similar “tea and tour” event with Michelle Obama.
There was a meeting between Trump and Biden in the Oval Office as Trump got ready to take office on January 20, 2025.
