On social media, scary threats of school shootings in Texas are starting to go around, making students and adults very scared.
Because there are so many terrible school killings in the country, no threat is too small to be taken seriously.
In San Antonio, Texas, a picture of someone threatening to shoot up several schools started to get around town. Parents and students were scared to go to or send their kids to the schools that were said to be under attack.
When the picture was sent to the San Antonio Police Department, they quickly started looking into the threats, which could be very serious.
Detectives from the SAPD were able to find the person who made the threats. Detectives found out that the original poster was a 12-year-old boy, which was a shocking discovery.
More Texas Communities Affected By Threats
These kinds of posts are starting to show up in other parts of Texas, like Victoria, Texas. A picture with the names of several elementary and middle schools was shared on social media, which caused a lot of stress and fear.
The Victoria Independent School District said they knew about the claims and are taking them very seriously. This is what the text message to parents said:
“Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) are looking into these posts to make sure your school community is safe.” At this point, there are no confirmed threats, but just to be safe, we are all working together to keep an eye on things.
