The Kimball Police Department searched a home at 404 S. Myrtle Street in Kimball on Friday. The order was issued after it was said that a man had eaten a pet cat.
The search and investigation into animal abuse were done by Kimball police with help from the Sidney Police Department, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Kimball County Sheriff’s Office.
He was caught and will be charged with animal cruelty and breaking a protection order. His name is Eldon Blake Lewis. Police have proof that Lewis killed, cooked, and ate a cat. Until proven guilty, everyone on the suspect list is innocent.
“The Kimball Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all animals and urges the public to report any suspected cases of animal abuse,” police said in a statement Friday night.
The Sidney Police Department helped the Kimball Police Department for the first time since they agreed to help each other earlier this week.
