Sheriff Jack Harlan says that Kevin A. Cooper, a 32-year-old man from Havana, Illinois, has been arrested on September 24, 2024, at about 9:03 a.m.
Hunters from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office learned that Cooper was talking to a 15-year-old girl and going to Galesburg to have sexual relations with the girl and bring her weed.
Detectives from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office caught Cooper after he rented a hotel room and was on his way to get the child.
Cooper was caught and taken to the Knox County Jail, where he was charged with the following:
Being asked to meet a child
Getting to See a Child
Requesting a child in a sexual way
Grooming
Helping a minor get into trouble with the law
Lack of a valid driver’s license

Until they are found guilty in court, everyone is thought to be innocent.
