San Antonio (KTSA News) – An early morning fire at an East Side apartment complex claimed the lives of ten puppies.
San Antonio firefighters received the call from the 4500 block of Lavender Lane at 4 a.m. Monday.
The fire broke out in a first-floor flat, and while all of the building’s tenants were able to escape safely, ten puppies in the room where the fire started died.
According to officials, the fire started in the bedroom while no one was home. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading beyond the one apartment unit.
The cause is still being investigated.
