An Indiana County woman who stole more than $20,000 from an 88-year-old while serving as her caretaker received a probationary term.
In September, 35-year-old Jacquiline Elise Caylor entered a guilty plea to theft by unlawful taking and forgery.
According to Indiana County District Attorney Robert F. Manzi, Jr., Caylor was hired to help the woman with personal care, everyday household chores, and general assistance.
The victim’s family filed a police report on December 8, 2022, after growing suspicious of several transactions made from the victim’s bank account.
It was discovered that Caylor had taken $23,400 from the victim in total.
Caylor received a five-year probationary term. She is also required to reimburse the victim.
