People in the United States will soon be getting new checks from the Social Security Administration. You have to meet certain requirements to get this new check, but many people in the United States who meet these requirements do not even know they can get the check.
You will not be able to get this check if you have not applied for it ahead of time, since the payment does not come automatically to people who are qualified.
It is required that you apply for it ahead of time, but you might get it next month if you do not get it now. Everything will depend on when the payment is made and whether or not you are eligible for this Social Security check.
How can I get another payment from the Social Security Administration in the near future?
The Supplemental Security Income is the name of this new payment we are talking about. People who live in the United States and meet certain requirements get an extra check from the Social Security Administration.
For those who have already asked for a check and been approved, the SSA will send it to you on October 1.

Remember that to be eligible for this payment you must be:
- Be age 65 or older or have a disability.
- Have low monthly income and low resources.

This is the only way you can get one of these monthly checks that Social Security sends to people who belong to it.
Social Security also recently paid more than $1.1 million in payments to 400 people with terminal illnesses, thanks to an underused Supplemental Security Income (SSI) rule.Â
SSI is for people who have limited income and resources and have a visual impairment, a disability, or are age 65 or older. These 400 people were approved for SSI because they are unable to work due to a terminal illness. Some of the conditions are chronic heart failure, chronic kidney disease, leukemia, and other cancers.Â
We try to identify disability applications involving terminal illness as early as possible and to expedite them at every step of the process.Â
Exceptions to the installment process
We’re also trying to increase awareness about other exceptions to the SSI installment process. For example, we can increase the amount of the first and second installments if the person receiving SSI has certain debts and expenses. Â
Qualifying debts are related to:
1. Food, clothing, and shelter, including:
- Rent or mortgage payments.Â
- Property taxes or insurance.Â
- Utilities. Â
2. Medically necessary services, supplies or equipment, or medicine, including the purchase of:Â
- A car.
- A mobile phone.
- A computer.Â
We can also increase the amount of the first and second installment payments for expenses related to:Â
- The purchase of a home, or Â
- Medically necessary services, supplies, or equipment. Â
We recently revised this policy to make it easier for people to receive increased installment payments. The person receiving SSI is no longer required to provide documentation of outstanding debts and expenses. We can accept their allegations.
Q) How is my Social Security payment date determined?
Social Security payments are typically paid out starting on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. The remaining two payments will be paid out on the following two Wednesdays of the month. Which week you receive your payment depends on your birthdate. There is one big exception, which I’ll cover below.
Birthdate between: | Social Security check date |
---|---|
1st and the 10th | 2nd Wednesday of the month |
11th and the 20th | 3rd Wednesday of the month |
21st and 31st | 4th Wednesday of the month |
Q) What is the amount of this check from the Social Security Administration?
This payment from the Social Security Administration is worth up to $943 a month at most. Based on how much money they make, each person gets a different amount. Extra help from the government is cut off when we make more money.
So, if our monthly income is low, our monthly Supplemental Security Income check will be bigger. Another thing we should remember is that this check’s amount can change if our monthly income does too.
Q) If you didn’t receive your Social Security check? then follow these steps
If your check doesn’t show up when it’s supposed to or at all, the Social Security Administration suggests waiting for three additional mailing days before contacting it. After that, you can call the national toll-free number: 1-800-772-1213
The SSA notes that “wait times to speak to a representative are typically shorter in the morning, later in the week and later in the month.”
If you’re having trouble getting ahold of the SSA through the national number, you can use their office locator to find a local office to reach out to.Â
Q) Will I receive my other government benefits on the same day?
If you’ve received Social Security benefits before May 1997, or receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income, your payment schedule isn’t determined by your birthdate. Instead, payments are paid out every month on the same date with a couple of exceptions that I’ll explain below.Â
Social Security payments will be sent out on the 3rd of each month, while SSI payments are sent out on the 1st of each month. These dates will sometimes change if the 1st or the 3rd of the month falls on a weekend or holiday.
For instance, March 3 fell on a weekend, so Social Security recipients received their March payments two days early, on March 1. The same will happen in the month of November. The only benefits that are paid on the same schedule are Social Security and Social Security Disability Insurance.Â
I have been seeing these ads about the money increase but never received one. I am 74yrs old trying to live off of $1,100.00 dollars a month and raising my 13yr old granddaughter I need help.
The lady with the Granddaughter will qualify for several government programs if she is the legal guardian. SNAP is one that will help along with Medicaid for the girl’s medical expenses The Grandmother should contact her local income support office. There is very little help for the elder with that income, but when you add a dependent child there are many programs.
I’m
I also am 74 and live on a limited income and I’m disabled. I see these ads and how people on other states are receiving extra money but it doesn’t tell us where we’re supposed to apply. It’s this some kind of fluke to very seniors excited for nothing and we don’t get help? We seniors are the ones that are suffering the most and it’s terrible. Please help us.
Every time they increase so does Medicare and we never get what they tell people one time I had a decrease because if Medicare so no I don’t believe anything they say
I am almost 56 and disabled raising my 14 year old son who is disabled but can’t get help for him they say he doesn’t reach there standards I hear of this money to and don’t see anything for it just the price of groceries rising like eggs 3 months ago 60 eggs coated 7.98 today the same store sells them for 19.98 thank you Mr President and vice president
How do you apply for the check it need one
I’m middle class individual and financially broke all the time, struggling week to week unable to get ahead. I collect SSI to sublimit my income to make ends meet.It seems social security is always taking my hard income dollars claiming I made to much money and penalize me. Since I’ve filed at age 64 I’ve had to pay back 5300.00 and some change. 🤔 Something isn’t right about that, needed to borrow against my 401 k . currently they have lowered my amount monthly to pay back. Don’t understand system of this government
