Betting lines, game preview, and prediction for Missouri vs. South Carolina

MO is very, very, very lost in all the talk about the SEC. It is much closer than everyone thinks to winning the SEC title and making the College Football Playoff.

That is because the offense has been terrible lately since quarterback Brady Cook has been out. He probably will not play this week either.

The Tigers will be in the running if they can pull off this win and beat Mississippi State and Arkansas. They will be 10-2 and right in the mix.

The best team in the SEC right now is South Carolina. It only lost to Texas A&M in the SEC, did not have any problems with Vanderbilt, and only lost by five points to Alabama and LSU.

The Gamecocks’ last two games are in the SEC, against Wofford and at Clemson.

Why Missouri Will Win

The defense has to both attack and fight.

The Aggies lost badly to the Gamecocks because they missed too many stops. Missouri’s defense has been good against the run this season, but they did badly against Alabama and Texas A&M. Nine of the ten rushing touchdowns they gave up were in those two losses.

It is hard for the South Carolina offense to keep defenses out of the backfield. This is partly due to problems on the line and partly because QB LaNorris Sellers makes plays.

Gamecocks do well because they can run the clock, but Mizzou is the best team in the SEC at keeping the ball for longer. That being said…

Why South Carolina Will Win

Missouri’s offense was not very good even with Brady Cook.

The Tigers beat Boston College and Vanderbilt, so it is not like they have not beaten anyone. But Oklahoma is Kansas right now, and Auburn is Auburn right now. Both games against bad teams were fights.

There were two tough tests, and Mizzou lost both by scores of 75–10, to Alabama and Texas A&M.

The offense did nothing until the last-second miracle against Oklahoma last week. Now it has to deal with one of the best pass rushes in the country from South Carolina.

The South Carolina team is interesting. Sometimes the running game works and sometimes it doesn’t, but Sellers has been great, the defense is great, and the Tigers will not have any problems even though they do not have enough downfield passing.

The defense for Missouri will keep this close into the second half, but the offense will not do enough to help.
