Betting lines, Game Preview, and Prediction for Texas A&M vs. South Carolina

This week, Texas A&M is the talk of the town.

It appeared that the Aggies would suffer a difficult defeat at home against LSU, but then … boom. Marcel Reed, the backup quarterback, took over and performed like Johnny Manziel as A&M easily won 38–23 to go 5-0 in the SEC.

The team will play two of its next three games at home against New Mexico and Auburn, followed by a regular season finale against Texas.

After defeating Oklahoma 35–9 in Norman, South Carolina takes a two-week vacation. Wofford is still on the schedule, so even if it is out of the SEC title race, a fifth victory is still possible.

But in order to qualify for the bowl, the sixth must be played here, at Vanderbilt, against Missouri, or against Clemson.

Why Texas A&M Will Win

Is Marcel Reed really so wonderful, come on?

Despite only throwing and completing two passes against LSU, he took control of the game by running for 62 yards and three scores.

He is good, and Le’Veon Moss helped out a little bit, scoring two touchdowns and gaining 83 yards. He has now scored seven touchdowns in the last three games, but the offensive line is the key.

In addition to having excellent pass protection and ranking eighth in the country in terms of the fewest tackles for loss allowed, the Texas A&M front five dominated LSU for 242 running yards.

Why South Carolina Will Win

Against the run, the Gamecocks are outstanding.

This is due in part to the defense’s exceptional ability to create pressure and produce tackles for loss.

It will annoy Reed (or Conner Weigman, incidentally; the regular A&M starter may yet be called) and prevent the Aggie backfield from settling in.
