As the season goes on, this is going to get so, so interesting.
Without a little luck, the Big 12 might only get one bid. The ACC might be made up of Clemson and Miami, and the Big Ten and SEC will be full of teams.
But the fifth spot that goes to the winner of Group of Five will be the real fun. Since Memphis lost, Boise State, UNLV, James Madison, and a lot of other teams should now be talked about.
This is how we think the College Football Playoff will go going into Week 5.
College Football Playoff Projections: Week 5
One of the 12 spots in the playoffs goes to the winner of the Group of Five. The top four teams in each league get the first four spots.
One more thing. The CFP puts the top seeds in their usual bowl spots. The Big Ten team goes to the Rose Bowl if it is ranked first. The Sugar Bowl is for the SEC winner.
There is no reseeding in terms of how this works with brackets.
The winner of 8 at 9 plays the 1, the winner of 10 at 7 plays the 2, the winner of 11 at 6 plays the 3, and the winner of 8 at 9 plays the 4. What cards do you get?
Yes, if there is a big loss early on, the third seed might play the eleventh seed and the first seed might play the seventh seed.
