As a heads up, the current College Football Playoff bracket predictions are detailed, as is how we believe it will unfold, but here are the matches as part of the most recent bowl forecasts.
Which SEC clubs will receive the call? How many Big 12 and ACC teams will make it in? What will happen to Indiana, Notre Dame, and the other teams in the mix? Here is our explanation.
FP Projections: Week 13
So, how are they put together? Here are the latest thoughts.
We admit that we’re probably reading the Texas situation incorrectly. The committee adores the Longhorns, even though they have yet to defeat a great team, so they may be given the benefit of the doubt. However, we stand by our prediction that the winner of Texas vs. Texas A&M will advance and the loser would be eliminated.
We also admit that the SEC Championship tiebreaker situation is currently impossible. There are still far too many moving components, and one mishap knocks everything out of sync. Here’s our best guess.
SMU is a wild card.As it has repeatedly been stated, no Power Five team with 11 victories would have been left out of the College Football Playoff. This might be put to the test if the Mustangs don’t win the ACC title, especially if BYU, the one team they’ve lost to thus far, doesn’t make the cut.
There is no reseeding. The 8-9 winner goes first, the 7-10 winner goes second, the 6-11 winner goes third, and the 5-12 winner goes fourth.
1 vs 8-9 plays the 4 vs 5-12, and 2 vs 7-10 plays 3 vs 6-11.
