I do not think the first round of the College Football Playoff rankings came as much of a surprise. Oregon was a clear-cut No. 1.
Please keep in mind that this is only a snapshot of the present moment. To be more specific, we can call it the preseason. Do not take too much from this first group; it is just a warm-up to get everyone up to speed.
