In Georgia, Phase 3 of the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) has begun. Families with low to moderate incomes who lost their homes or had damage from Hurricane Helene can get one-time temporary food aid through this program.
The third phase of benefits started on November 7th and will last until November 14th, excluding November 11th, which is Veterans Day, and is the second-to-last phase.
Burke, Columbia, Glascokc, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Screven, Taliaferro, Warren, and Washington counties will all get help from the D-SNAP program. Only during the disaster benefits period do households have to pre-register. For each phase, pre-registration will go on.
What documents are required to receive D-SNAP?

- November 8, 2024: GL
- November 9, 2024: SR
- November 12, 2024: SZ
- November 13, 2024: Open to all Phase 3 applicants
- November 14, 2024: Open to all Phase 3 applicants
When will Phase 4 of the D-SNAP program begin?
According to the Georgia state website, this phase is tentatively set to happen on the following dates:
Phase 4 will run from November 18, 2024, to November 23, 2024, in the following counties: Appling, Bulloch, Candler, Dodge, Emanuel, Evans, Jeff Davis, Johnson, Laurens, Montgomery, Tattnall, Telfair, Toombs, Treutlen, Wayne, and Wheeler.
What are the requirements for D-SNAP benefits?
Certain requirements are necessary to be eligible and entitled to the aid.
- Live or work in one of the counties mentioned above that was hit by the disaster.
- Not receive food assistance through the SNAP program.
- Have suffered property loss or income related to the disaster.
- Meet financial eligibility requirements.
