Who does Florida miss from the SEC schedule?
Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Vanderbilt
All things considered, Florida would like to be missing more big SEC teams.
Boo hoo, it doesn’t have to face Alabama, and skipping Missouri and Oklahoma is wonderful, but that still leaves a lot of killers to cope with. Arkansas, Auburn, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt are all dangerous teams, but the Gators would prefer avoid five or six of them.
Florida football schedule, the good and the bad
The Good: The Gators should be up 2-0.
Long Island, and even with heart and desire, USF should win. With a home game versus Mississippi State and Florida State’s need for a season to recover, the drama may be reduced compared to previous season.
The Bad: That was difficult. This schedule isn’t really good.
Hopefully, Florida State is still bad for the Gators, but facing the Seminoles and traveling to Miami are two too many difficult non-conference games given the nightmare of an SEC run.
Is this team ever at home? There may be many games in Florida, but there are just two home games between September 6th and November 22nd, one of which is in Texas.
Florida Football Schedule: Best and worst case scenarios
Best Case Scenario: Florida has truly turned a corner, passing LSU and Miami on the road, and the program is back to where it should be.
It pulls off the Texas game, survives the majority of the games away from Gainesville, and defeats Kentucky and Ole Miss. With momentum on its side, it rises to challenge Tennessee and Florida State at home.
Worst-case scenario: Nothing works. The Gators were 2-0 before losing against LSU. Miami suffered a defeat. Texas, at Texas A&M – loss. Georgia, at Kentucky, at Ole Miss, Tennessee – maybe one win comes out of that four-game stretch – and it all finishes with a terrible thud at home to Florida State.
Season Prediction: (January 30) The Gators should be lot better, and their record won’t reflect that. There will be a surprise or two, but there will also be a loss somewhere that cannot happen, such as Kentucky, which is located between Georgia and Ole Miss. They will become bowl eligible in late November.
The Season Prediction will be revised multiple times over the offseason.
