Georgia Republican Party leaders have expelled former Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan.
According to a statement, Duncan was voted out unanimously by the party’s Executive Committee on Monday.
The resolution declares that Duncan is “banned from all property owned or leased by the Georgia Republican Party” and is not permitted to attend events “held by or under the authority of the Georgia Republican Party.” The complete resolution can be viewed here.
Duncan responded to his expulsion on X on Monday night.
“It’s difficult to believe that this is a good use of time for a party that only has so much time to figure out mass deportations, world peace, and global tariffs.” Learn to do a victory lap rather than start another dumpster fire.”
Duncan has been an ardent critic of President-elect Donald Trump, speaking at the Democratic National Convention.
Georgia GOP chairman Josh McKoon stated in August that he believes Duncan is selling out to the Democrats.
“Geoffrey Duncan is no longer a Republican. In August, McKoon told that Geoff Duncan had clearly opted to join the Democratic Party, particularly with its extremist aspects.
However, Duncan has maintained that he is still a Republican fighting to defend his own party from Trump.
