Chrishaune Latez Lee, 28, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with arson with a deadly weapon, showing a gun while committing a crime, and having a gun while being a convicted felon.
Around 2:06 a.m., a good Samaritan stepped in when he saw Lee beating a woman and pulling her into his apartment.
Lee tried to punch the man, but he missed, and he fell to the ground. The man ran away when Lee got up and pulled out a gun. Three witnesses and video security showed that what he said was true.
Officer Brandon Mills of the Gainesville Police Department said Lee admitted to grabbing the victim and trying to drag her inside so that “the neighborhood would not hear them argue.”
Lee said the nice guy pushed him down some stairs and then ran off after taking out two phones and giving them to Lee’s brother.
Lee has been charged with nine crimes, and his bond is set at $550,000.
