For some, the September retirement checks have already come, but not all of the beneficiaries. People who have not been able to get their checks yet may be able to soon.
But there is one thing that you have to do in order to get your Social Security check, which is coming in a few days.
Who gets the new Social Security payment?
United States people will soon get their Social Security payment. It will be sent by the government on September 25th. The payment will be given to retirees in Group 4 on this day, so we must be retirees in Group 4 to get the benefit on this day.
If you want to be in retired group 4 and get your check on September 25, 2024, you must:
- Have a retirement benefit since after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
If we meet these two conditions, we will get the payment on this day. However, this does not mean that we will actually get the payment on this day; the collection method we choose will also affect the exact day that we receive our retirement check.
If we choose Direct Deposit, our Social Security check will show up in our bank account on September 25th. The payment will show up a few days later if we do not choose this way of collection. It will show up, though.
Remember that this check can go to any type of retiree who meets the standards. If a retiree is in retiree group 4, they can get the pension whether they are old or disabled.

Can I increase my Social Security check?
Retirees in the United States often want to know if there is a way to get their Social Security payment raised so they get a little extra money every month.
To be honest, if we are already getting a retirement check, it is not possible to get more of it, at least not directly.
We can only get a small extra payment every year thanks to the COLA. That is why we have to wait until the first payment of each year to find out how much more money we will get thanks to the COLA.
The rise in our September check was due to this COLA. It was higher than the September payment we got last year.
