Two big changes to the Social Security payment schedule will happen in the first three months of 2019. These changes will affect more than 7 million people in the country who get SSI payments.
The new payment schedule for 2025 has finally been confirmed by the Social Security Administration. There will be two changes to the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program in the first half of the year. Every month, SSI benefits are sent by the SSA on the first, unless that day is a holiday, Saturday, or Sunday.
The new schedule says that SSI recipients will not get their regular benefits on February 1st and March 1st because they are Saturdays during the first three months of the year.
Because of this, people who are entitled to benefits from February will get them on January 31, and people who are entitled to benefits from March will get them on February 28. It is important to note that the new 2.5% cost of living adjustment (COLA) will already be built into these benefits.

How much money will beneficiaries receive in their SSI payments next year?
Because of the new cost of living adjustment (COLA) for 2025, people who get SSI will get a small boost in their monthly payments to help them keep up with inflation. Even though the percentage was less than this year’s 3.2%, their Social Security checks will still go up because of the new COLA.
For example, beneficiaries will get an average of $715 a month, which is $17 more than they would have gotten in 2024. Also, each person will make $967 a month instead of $943, and couples who qualify will make up to $1,450 a month.
Along with people who get SSI, Americans who are retired, widowed, or disabled will also get bigger Social Security checks starting in January 2025.
