A 30-year-old guy was found guilty of killing his ex-girlfriend and their 14-month-old daughter in 2020.
Anthony Maggio was found guilty of killing Ashtin Eaton and Hazel Bryant on October 11. He was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder. The jury thought about the case for 14 hours before making their decision. In December, he will get his sentence.
The Lockport Police were called to an apartment in the 900 block of Hamilton Street on October 2, 2020. There, they found Eaton, 32, and her child dead.
It was decided that Eaton had been choked to death and Bryant had been suffocated. Reports say that Maggio killed the two people because he did not want to pay child support.
The lawyers for Maggio said that he was asleep with his fiancée at home when Eaton and Bryant were killed.
There was, however, DNA from Maggio under Eaton and Bryant’s fingernails, on a knife, and on Eaton’s clothes.
Shirley Onderisin, Eaton’s mother, told WFLD, “He will suffer for a while, and I will suffer until I die because my baby will never be here with me again.” His dad can still go see him, though.
She said, “My daughter is finally going to have justice, along with my granddaughter.”
Oferisin said that Eaton was not the first daughter of hers to die. “It is never going to be over for me,” she told the news station. In a car crash, I lost my first daughter.
Now I also lost my second daughter and my granddaughter. That means it is never over. Truth was told, though.
