Disability benefits will now be paid on the following dates in October, according to the Social Security Administration (SSA).
People who qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits can get an average of $1,537 a month, or up to $3,822 if they meet the standards for Social Security contributions.
The SSA will also send amounts equal to $2,590 every month to all people who are considered blind. Remember that the Social Security Administration (SSA) says someone is blind if they can not get their better eye’s vision fixed to better than 20/200.
If someone can not see more than 20 degrees with their better eye for at least a year, that person is called blind.
It is important to know that blind people who get disability benefits from SSDI may also be able to get Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits.
In order to get SSI income, people must build up credits at any point while they were working. If they do not have enough credits at the time of going blind, they can borrow credits from the money their parents or wives make. In addition,
Disability benefit payments confirmed for next month
The Social Security Administration has to send out more than 70 million payments every month.
To help all beneficiaries understand how their payments are sent out based on the program they are eligible for, they made a yearly payment schedule. Based on this monthly plan, there will be five rounds of payments next month, as shown below:
- Beneficiaries from the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program will receive their monthly benefits on the 1st day of the month (October 1st).
- Beneficiaries from the retirement, survivor, and disability insurance (RSDI) program who claimed benefits before May 1997 will get their monthly benefits on the 2nd day of the month (October 3rd).
- RSDI beneficiaries who claimed after May 1997 will get their benefits on three different payment dates, based on the day they were born:
- October 9th (Second Wednesday): for beneficiaries born between the 1st and the 10th
- October 16th (Third Wednesday): for beneficiaries born between the 11th and the 20th
- October 23rd (Fourth Wednesday): for beneficiaries born between the 21st and the 31st
Based on this schedule, people who are eligible for disability benefits will get their money on October 3, 16, and 23, based on when they applied for benefits and when they were born.
Do not forget that you can always check your My Social Security Account for more information about your monthly payment. This is where you can download financial records and even ask for more Social Security-related processes.
