Beyoncé came for Netflix on social media, mocking the streaming service ahead of her highly anticipated Christmas halftime show.
The performance will be streamed live at NRG Stadium during halftime of the Houston Texans vs Baltimore Ravens game, with some NFL players risking everything to catch a glimpse of the pop diva.
During live streams, Bey made fun of the streaming service’s past glitches, and fans loved it. Netflix took the jab in stride, updating their X bio to “roasted by Beyoncé 12.24.24.”
On Christmas Eve, Beyoncé shared a cheeky promo video for the upcoming performance on social media, captioned “I am sending you big joy and love on this Cowboy Christmas Eve.” I will see you tomorrow in my city, Houston.”
In the video, she can be seen wearing a large brimmed black hat, gloves, and sunglasses while strumming her Grammy-nominated hit “Texas Hold ‘Em” on the banjo. She takes off her sunglasses as the camera zooms in on her face, only for that pesky red buffering circle to appear. After a few seconds of silent “buffering,” she giggles and winks at the camera.
The halftime show will be her first appearance on stage since the 2023 Renaissance tour, as well as the first live performances of songs from her March 2024 album Cowboy Carter.
The 32-time Grammy winner was referring to previous Netflix live streams, such as the Love is Blind season 4 reunion and the November 15 fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, which experienced technical difficulties.
Netflix responded with a playful “now hold on…,” and changed their bio on X, formerly Twitter.
Millions of fans will tune in on Christmas Day to watch the performance, with all eyes on Netflix to ensure that the Beyhive does not miss a beat due to buffering.
