The fight for the Floyd of Rosedale Trophy, which is a brass pig, means a lot more this year.
Last year, Minnesota won a controversial battle. This year, they start the Big Ten season against USC before going to Michigan and then Ohio State.
Iowa’s offense is still not quite ready for prime time after losing to Iowa State two weeks ago and then doing okay against Troy last week.
What is next? After a week off, I will be at Ohio State. In other words, win or it will be a 2-3 start.

That did not matter when Iowa lost to Iowa State—the Cyclones missed just two of fourteen chances—but Minnesota is built a little differently.
So far, the defense has done a great job against the pass. The offense is not turning the ball over, and there are not many mistakes. Do not mess up, do not give Iowa a chance, do not lose the time of possession battle…

This is Iowa vs. Minnesota. The score will be low, and it will be close. It will come down to one strange play. In the last five, four of them were settled by five points or less. This one will be the same.

Iowa’s Drew Stevens has made all five of his field goals. Dragon Kesich of Minnesota is 5 of 9. Stevens will make a 41-yard field goal to win.
