Buffalo, New York (WBEN) A lot of people came together on Thursday to support a woman who lost her daughter. Sarena Worthy says her daughter killed herself because she could not stand being picked on at school.
Another student raped her daughter Desire Williams in 2022. She says that attack was caught on video and sent around. “Desire has worked hard since she was this little and ran a lemonade stand.”
A lot of different businesses belong to her. She is kind, loving, and honest. Worthy says, “She was like an angel on Earth.”
Worthy says she wants the school to follow the rules in New York State and keep track of everything and make sure it is being recorded.
“So if something happens to somebody is child, a tragedy happens to somebody is child, we could come back to the school and come get the documents and the paperwork,” says Worthy.
Another parent says the student who hit Williams also hit other girls and called the suspect a monster.
James Brooks Jones says that people do not like it when you stand up for yourself.
“They need more support systems in this school, because so many people, so many parents, so many children have been failed to the system, and I believe that these teachers need to bring more children into the school who really care about these children,” says Jones, who says she is been bullied too.
She says the school broke the law by not doing anything about the bullying.
