Police said that two young boys were arrested on the Upper East Side after they reportedly beat up former NY Gov. David Paterson and his stepson.
The boys, who are 12 and 13, were charged with gang attack by the police.
The event took place in front of 1871 2nd Avenue on Friday at 8:35 p.m. The attackers hit both guys several times before running away.
Paterson and his son both got hurt in the head and face. They were both taken to a nearby hospital and then let go.
Anthony had five stitches put in the bottom of his lip.
He is hurt in a lot of places. “During the fight, he got pretty badly hurt,” Paterson said.
“While my stepson Anthony Silwa was walking his dog on the other side of this building, he saw three young people climbing up the side of the building.
This is a way that people have gotten into buildings in the past to break in or steal from them.” He told them he was going to call the cops to deal with them. “They got together for a short time and came down,” Paterson said.
It turned into a big fight, and Paterson said that the former governor and his grandson were outnumbered.
Police say that neither Paterson nor his grandson knew who attacked them.
