Prediction, Game Preview, and Betting Lines for Baylor vs. West Virginia

As an example of getting back up, Baylor lost to Colorado on a very painful Hail Mary (well, it was not really a Hail Mary, but you get the idea).

They then lost their next three games. At 2-4, the season was over. The team just could not get a break, and then they won three games in a row.

Both the offense and the defense played well, and now the Bears are just one win away from a bowl game. They still need to beat Houston and Kansas here.

West Virginia is kind of nearby. With three or four road games left, including ones in Arizona and Cincinnati, the team’s season was over. These are the Mountaineers’ last two wins. They need one more to go bowling with UCF and at Texas Tech.

Why Baylor Will Win

The game of running is over.

Some bad Big 12 defenses have helped the offensive line get better over the last few weeks. It was good at the beginning of the season. It looks like the Bears are one of the hottest teams in the country on the ground right now.

As a surprise, Baylor is 5-1 when it runs well and 0-3 when it doesn’t. In its last three games, all of which it won, it ran for almost 900 yards and scored ten touchdowns. But…

Why West Virginia Will Win

West Virginia has trouble when they play teams that are better at passing. In five of the last six games, it gave up two or more touchdowns on the ground, so it is not a brick wall against good running teams.

But it should be able to keep things in check, like 3.5 yards per carry or so.

The Mountaineers are very well balanced and able to change their offense to fit the game plan. In this, the goal should be to bomb the Baylor defense, which has given up more than 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns in the last three games.

Baylor vs West Virginia: Who Will Win?

Even though this is not quite the same as what West Virginia is used to, it will be able to keep up.

This Baylor team is much, much better at home, but West Virginia is a bit stronger away from home. West Virginia will be able to keep the ball a little longer in this back-and-forth game.
