Prediction, Game Preview, and Betting Lines for Clemson vs Virginia

The Clemson machine keeps going.

It has less to do with how good the Tigers are than how bad their schedule is. This is not even close to being as good as the strong teams of recent years. Since the loss to Virginia, they have won five straight games and five in a row by more than ten points.

With a 4-2 record, Virginia is off to a good start. Even though they lost 24–20 to Louisville, Virginia was quite close. It is still in the running for the ACC title, but it will need a lot of help.

The most likely goal is to make it to a bowl game, which could take some work. Today is the first of four games that will be played away from home. The next three are at Pitt and Notre Dame.

The lines are all over the Tigers.

Things have not been too hard. Big things are happening for Clemson’s backfield now that they have time to work together. The defense front is stopping the run, so everyone is holding.

The lines on Virginia are better than those on Wake Forest and, shockingly, NC State, so they can hold up against the Tigers. But they have not played against a run defense like this before.

If Clemson does not get up quickly, it should not worry about anything, but…
