Texas wants to win. It has a lot of good wins, but it needs a big one. Though not on the schedule, beating Arkansas would not be as big of a deal as beating Alabama, Tennessee, or Ole Miss. Still, it would be important.
The last game at home is against Kentucky, and then the game at Texas A&M. If the Longhorns win, everything will be fine; they will go to the SEC Championship. They can not smell this one, though.
Arkansas is having a good season, and with a win over Louisiana Tech next week, it will be able to go to a bowl game. But beating Texas in a Southwest Conference game would be extra special.

Why Arkansas Will Win
Can the Hogs get their running game going?
Hammering on Texas generally doesn’t work, but at least so far, that’s only because Florida had no payer of throwing and Mississippi State had to do something to slow things down even with its fast offense.
Georgia wasn’t able to pound away, but even averaging over 3.5 yards per carry against this D – Vanderbilt averaged 3.7 in its close call loss – matters.
Again, Florida ran well last week and it didn’t matter a lick. But for an Arkansas team that averages over five yards per carry, it needs to grind, Taylen Green needs to be accurate – he hit 70% of his throws against Tennessee – and it’ll stay in this, but …
Why Texas Will Win
The Arkansas back end leaks a lot.
The stats are a little off because of how well Ole Miss played, but it is not totally bad. There have not been many problems against teams that hit mid range passes, but the Texas offense needs to stay hot.
They should be able to get at least 250 yards, and as long as they do not commit a lot of turnovers, everything should be fine.
When it comes to taking the ball away, Arkansas’ defense is hit or miss. It made five against Mississippi State and five more against Auburn. But in the last five games, it has not made a turnover in any of them.
Texas has given up two or more touchdowns in five of their last seven games, but the four they gave up against Georgia were very bad. Everything should be okay if you do not do that, but…
Texas vs Arkansas: Who Will Win?
Arkansas is a bad place.
The offense is fifth in the country, so it has the right mix of skill, efficiency, and offense to give the Longhorns something they have not had to deal with yet.
All the way through, the Hogs will make it tough, but Texas’ defense will lock down in the fourth to win.
