Texas Tech has been many places. It took everything they had to beat Abilene Christian in the first game. They lost at Washington State because they could not do anything right, and they blew up North Texas 66-21.

Once again, the Red Raiders need to put everything they have into play as they host three of their first four league games.

Why Arizona State Will Win

The running game did not work as well against Texas State as it did against Mississippi State, but it needs to be fed more often.

Cam Skattebo will power the Sun Devils as they try to power away, and they need to keep doing that.

In the first three games, all of which they won, they ran the ball at least 42 times. In their win over Texas Tech, Washington State ran the ball 46 times, gaining over 300 yards and scoring four times.

There were 35 runs for Abilene Christian and 33 runs for North Texas. Both teams lost.

Why Texas Tech Will Win

You are used to a different Texas Tech.

It will throw, sure, but the running game has been much better so far.

The running game is not the strongest, but it gets yards quickly, averaging 5.6 yards per carry after a huge day of 232 yards and four touchdowns against North Texas.

But Texas Tech is there. The passing game is one of the best in the country. In all three games, it gained more than 340 yards.

In the last two games, Arizona State gave up six touchdowns and 268 yards going through the air.

At home, Texas Tech will just barely get by.

The team has not played the same game twice yet, and this will be the fourth time in a row that it does. This is probably more grind than the team wants.

There will be points, and they will come in big mood swings. In the last five minutes, Texas Tech will get past three mistakes and win a nail-biter.
