Now we have the Kansas we have been waiting for.
In a 42-14 win over a bad Houston team, the Jayhawk offense really came alive and helped the team get out of a slump, if only for a short time.
It does not get any easier after this game at Kansas State; they still have to play Iowa State, BYU, Colorado, and Baylor. But if the offense is on, they can beat anyone.
After a strange 38–9 loss at BYU, Kansas State came back really strong. It beat Oklahoma State easily, traveled to Colorado and beat them, and in a 45–18 win at West Virginia, it may have played its best game of the year.
The Wildcats are still very much in the running for the Big 12 title. They play Houston next week, Arizona State at home, and Cincinnati before their last game at Iowa State.

Why Kansas Will Win
When the attack is great, amazing things happen.
It got the season going with 530 yards in a rout of Lindenwood, but since then it is been hard to keep things going.
The 467 yards gained in the win over Houston were the most since Week 1. The offense was well-balanced, and the running game did great.

Why Kansas State Will Win
Have a nice time on defense for Kansas State.
It stops the run better than any other team in the Big 12. The Kansas will be able to move through the air a bit, but they will bend a lot without breaking much. Get ready for Kansas to try a lot of field goals.
The Wildcats should do their best on the lines. The defensive front is great at getting into the backfield, and they are great at stopping teams from getting behind the line.
The running game will be strong, and the pass rush will be steady. The team should be in charge overall.
Kansas’s passing game is not stable enough—it only completes 57% of its passes, but
Kansas vs Kansas State: Who Will Win
This is Kansas vs. Kansas State, but…
When it comes to this competition, do not use the overused phrase “throw out the record books.”
Since 2008, Kansas State has won 15 straight games. This year’s team is too steady and good to break the run, as long as it does not give up a lot of balls.
Kansas will get the offense going, and there will be a few big plays in the first half. But Kansas State will rock too well as it gets through the second half.
