The team keeps doing well even without star quarterback Kurtis Rourke.

It was not as good as usual on the ground against Washington, but it was still good. Quarterback Tayven Jackson was not terrible either, and the defense took care of the rest.

Start with this: Rourke should be back soon. That will not help the Spartans as long as the starting quarterback has a sore thumb on his throwing hand. He is just getting back into the swing of things, though.

The midrange passes will go through Rourke if he is healthy, but the running game should stop for the first time all season.

Ohio State, Oregon, and Iowa all found different ways to beat the Spartans, but Michigan had a hard time getting going. Five times during the season, the MSU defense let runs go for less than four yards.

The Hoosiers have only gone on trips twice. After blowing past those two—one was at UCLA and the other at Northwestern—it was easy. They will keep their lines strong, and Aidan Chiles and the offense will keep the pace.
