On October 9 and 16, a direct check from the Social Security Administration (SSA) was sent. People who are retired will not get more money until January 2025, even though the 2025 COLA increase is known.
But people born between October 21 and October 31 will get their October Social Security on October 23. If you also get SSI, this will not be your paycheck. Getting benefits before May 1997 will not make it either.
The most you can get from Social Security on October 23
Anyone in 2024 who turns 70 can get up to $4,873 in October, no matter what Wednesday they get paid. You will get that much money when you quit on October 23.
People over 65 who filed their taxes at Full Retirement Age (FRA) can get up to $3,822. If you file early, you can see that your Social Security check will be less.

You might have to pay up to $2,710 a month if you filed when you were 62 in 2024. Do not forget that not many people make that much money. A lot of people also have trouble getting their regular payouts, which as of August 2024 are $1,920.
November is Social Security payment month
There will still be checks and direct payments in November 2024, after October 23. The first payment for retirement will be sent out 48 hours early.
This will come as a surprise to people who do not follow Social Security news. On November 1, some elderly people will get Social Security. If they also get SSI, they will get two checks at the same time.
Remember that SSI is sent every year on November 1. More money for retirees will be sent on November 13, 20, or 27. Since there are 5 paychecks in November, it is possible for people on SSI and Social Security to split a check.
It is easy to see why. SSA decided on November 29 what amount of SSI people would get in December. Because December 1 is a Sunday, the SSI payment had to be changed.
