A lot of the money the U.S. Government gives to people is affected by the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA).
And one of the payouts that goes up because of the COLA is SNAP Food Stamps. Still, it is true that the amounts for this benefit are going up in a slightly different way.
Food Stamp checks from SNAP in 2025 will be bigger than checks from 2024. The COLA for these benefits will come a little earlier than we thought, though.
The USDA runs SNAP Food Stamps in the end, and it is the USDA that uses the COLA before the Social Security Administration does.
People who get SNAP Food Stamps and think they will get a raise in 2025 should know that they will not.
But not because we will not get a raise; it is because it will happen sooner. Anyway, it looks like the rise will not be too big, so this benefit will not give us many more extra dollars.
COLA for SNAP Food Stamps in 2025
We have already talked about how the 2025 COLA will affect SNAP Food Stamps before the year starts. This is because the USDA uses the COLA in October. That means that people who get SNAP Food Stamps will get a little extra money on their EBT cards in October.
On the other hand, this SNAP Food Stamps payment should not go up by too much.

Because of the COLA, the biggest check that can be given to a family member may go up to $292. We should wait until the USDA sends the check to the EBT card with the COLA added before we decide how much it will be.
