Social Security has unveiled a new change that will impact American beneficiaries in 2025
Social Security just recently said that starting in January 2025, people who want to get help in person will have to make an appointment.
In a statement on X, the SSA also said, “Setting appointments helps us cut down on wait times and give you better service.” It is hoped that this step will speed up the bureaucratic processes, but one of the main complaints that customers had when they heard about the announcement was that they had to wait for the phone to be answered.
Going to the Social Security website is the easiest way for most people to get where they need to go. There, you can get help and find valuable information. If you can not use the website, please call 1-800-772-1213, which is the national customer service number.
You can also call the Social Security office in your area. Still, keep in mind that if you want to go to an office in person, you have to make an appointment ahead of time.
The Mobile Check-In Express option was added by Social Security to make the registration process easier. Just scan the QR code that is given to you at the local office to quickly check in when you get there.
