Collectors want to get their hands on it. In the United States, there are millions of coins in circulation.
Many of them can only be exchanged for things that are equal to their face value. However, some coins can gain value quickly and sell for more than their face value.
And this is the case with some quarters, which collectors have been able to sell for up to $15,000 because of certain features. I will tell you which coin it is below.
Features of the 25 cent coinÂ
The front of the coin has a bust of George Washington facing left in the middle. This image comes from a sculpture by Jean Antoine Houdon. It has the words “Liberty,” “In God We Trust,” and the year it was made engraved on it.
There is an eagle on the back with wings spread out and arrows in its talons. It is facing left, just like Washington on the front, and the words “United States of America,” “Quarter Dollar,” and “E Pluribus Unum” are written below it.
How much is the 25-cent coin worth?Â
The “D” mintmark on these 1970 Denver-minted coins makes them stand out. Over 417,341,000 of these coins were made at the Denver Mint.
Because they did not circulate for long, they are hard to find. Because of how rare it is, an MS69 specimen will fetch $15,000 at auction in 2023 because it is in such great shape.
