You have to be a certain type of US citizen in order to get this September 25th check. We will not be able to get the check if we are not in this group.
To be fair, this is the last Social Security payment for the whole month of September. This means that all the other retirees should already have the money in their bank accounts. If not, we might need to send in our claim right away.
If we remember how to get our Social Security checks, we will always know when to pick them up every month. And on September 25, we might be able to get the check if we meet two conditions.
The 2024 COLA raise will be added to payments on the 25th. This means that people who are retired, disabled, widowed, or VA recipients will get a bigger payment in September 2023.
Which beneficiaries get Social Security on September 25th?
There are two things we need to do in order to get our September 25th Social Security check. One of these needs to do with the years of retirement, and the other has to do with the birthday of the recipient.
To be more specific, here are the things you need to do to get your September 25th Social Security payment:
- Have a benefit since after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
You can get the September payment even if your birthday is not in September. We do not need to worry about the birth year or the month of the birthday. The only things that need to be remembered are the exact birthday and retiring year.
Claiming Social Security back payments
We need to get our Social Security check as soon as possible if it does not come on time. There are two ways for us to take it. But before you read the second tip, you need to read the first one.
- Contact the bank. The bank may withhold the benefit money, so we should contact them to make sure that this is not the case.
- Contact the Social Security Administration. If the bank does not help us solve our problem, the Administration will know what is happening with our benefit.
To get paid as soon as possible, make sure you set up Direct Deposit and keep your personal information up to date so that your Social Security checks do not get held up.
