A bid of $837,000 has been approved by the Hoquiam City Council in order to secure the construction of the Queen Avenue Stormwater Pump station.
This week, the offer was accepted, and it is now completely funded as a result of a grant from the Chehalis Basin Flood Authority that will amount to $1.2 million.
There is a bigger North Shore Levee West Project that includes this pump station as a component. There has been no announcement regarding when the construction of the pump station on Queen Avenue will begin.
A portion of the work will include excavating dozens of feet into the ground, and the timing of this work is dependent on the weather.
