Pleasanton, California – Kennedy Stith, 27, has been caught in California. At first, she was thought to have been the victim of a home invasion that killed her 32-year-old boyfriend Edevion White. Stith has been charged with murder after police in Pleasanton looked into the case for months.
White was found dead in an apartment in the 5700 block of Owens Drive on May 1, 2023. At first, Stith told the police that two masked men broke into their flat and fatally stabbed her boyfriend. But after a year of looking into it, police in Pleasanton found that her story was made up. She was arrested on September 12.
Alameda County’s DA’s office charged Stith with murder on Friday, saying that she killed White by stabbing her in the chest at the house they shared.
Police said in a statement that Stith made up the story about the home invasion to hide the fact that she was involved in White’s death. Furthermore, the probe found claims that Stith had been controlling and violent toward White, allegedly making him sell drugs to pay their bills.
The Pleasanton Police Department told White’s family they were sorry for their loss and reaffirmed their commitment to bringing justice to the case. The city of Pleasanton is very sorry for the loss of Edevion White’s family and friends.
The department said, “We are working closely with them during this difficult time.” “We appreciate the community’s understanding and help during this investigation, and we will continue to work to keep our community safe.”
Stith is being held at Santa Rita Jail right now without bail.
