Who do you think will win the three most important college football games in Week 7?
Along with a point total call between two MAC teams that are having a rough time and a Mountain West vs. Pac-12 (?) matchup, here is the call for Ohio State’s big game at Oregon.
Three of the ten best picks against the spread for Week 7 are shown below.
10 Best College Football Predictions Against the Spread: Week 7, Top 3
3. Ball State at Kent State
Line: Point Total 59.5
Pick: Over
Even though I have no idea if this will work, I feel it is my duty to at least put it out there.
Ball State has the second-worst defense in the country, giving up 513 yards per game. Kent State’s defense gives up 583.2 yards per game, which is the most in the country.
Just so you know, these two teams are also the worst at scoring defense; the Cardinals give up 48.2 points per game and Kent State gives up 51.4.
Also, Kent State has the worst offense in the country. But that should change this week.
Again, if there is a chance, one team can handle the over on its own…
West Missouri State got 42 points from Ball State, Central Michigan got 34, and Western Michigan got 42.
2. Oregon State at Nevada
Line: Oregon State -3
Pick: Oregon State
This year Nevada has been a little strange.
It is tough on teams, like when it pushed SMU and lost 29–24. It also gave Georgia Southern a hard time and lost 20–17, and San Jose State barely beat them 35–31.
There was a 27-0 loss to Minnesota, though, so I hope you saw that. All three of those games were decided by three points or more.
There is some worry that the Wolf Pack have not played at home in a while, but a 4-1 Oregon State team should come in and win in a good way. It won all four games by 21 points or more, and the only game it lost was to Oregon.
Last but not least…
1. Ohio State at Oregon
Line: Ohio State -3
Pick: Ohio State
We are sorry, Buckeye fans. This is the kiss of death for you.
This year, I have been AWFUL with my No. 1 picks in this piece. Like, not even close to awful.
You can either fade this (ALWAYS go with the flow) or stick to the plan, because I am way past due.
For nine months now, I have been pushing the idea that Ohio State is the best team in the country. It has more skilled players and better coaches than anyone else.
Chip Kelly, a legendary Oregon coach, is now the offensive coordinator for the Buckeyes, and this looks like one of those teams that will not be stopped.
That is right, kind of like That Team Up North.
I will also believe in Oregon when it does something really great. (The first really big win under Dan Lanning will be the next one.)
That being said, I will not change my mind about Ohio State even if the Ducks pull this off, which I think they will do.
It does not matter to me if I think the Buckeyes will win, which I do.
