You know how this works if you have been with me for a while. I make a pick every once in a while just because.
It is just that one team is playing a certain way and the pick makes sense. I could go into the numbers, the how, the why, and the breakdown.
It looks like no one is paying attention to the fact that Notre Dame is destroying everyone right now.
There was something bad that happened against Northern Illinois, so beating Florida State is not a big deal. But other than the 31-24 win over Louisville, all of the other wins have been by more than 10 points.
Yeah, 22 points might not seem like much since Virginia is pretty good (the only time it lost by at least 22 points was to North Carolina, 41-14), but the Irish defense is playing at a whole other level.
In two of the last three games, Virginia has given up 41 points or more, so pick the hot team until this stops.
4. Missouri at South Carolina
Line: Point Total 41.5
Prediction: Over
I was on board with the under when it was 43.5, but I switched to the over when it dropped to 41.5.
I am not fooled by the crazy ending to Mizzou’s 30-23 win over Oklahoma, though.
Before everyone made mistakes, that game was like having a dog with fleas. This is the third time in four games that Missouri’s offense has failed to score 21 points, and UMass was one of the games that it did.
Recently, South Carolina’s defense has been great, but they are afraid of an offense that got going and scored 44 points against Texas A&M and 25 against Oklahoma.
And that is the trouble.
They should be able to beat 24 teams. Even though Missouri’s offense is having a tough time, it will still be able to make it to 42. It will happen, but we may all have to work hard and wait a while.
