A Wells Fargo worker was found dead in his or her office four days after clocking in. The cause of death has now been found.
Denise Prudhomme was found dead in a cubicle on the third floor of a Wells Fargo corporate office on Tuesday, August 20. Police said she had last scanned into the building at 7 a.m. on Friday, August 16. After that, there was no sign that she scanned out of the building.
Prudhomme worked in a part of the building that was not used by many people. Police said that the initial investigation did not find any clear signs of foul play.
Arizona Central reports that the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s office now says Prudhomme died suddenly of a heart attack caused by scarring in the heart muscle.
There was a lot of sadness at Wells Fargo about the death of Denise Prudhomme, who worked for the company.
“Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this very sad time. We are in touch to make sure they know we are here for them.” We care about the health and safety of our employees.
The company said that counselors are available to help employees. On-site security called the police to report an employee they thought was dead. When police arrived at 4:55 p.m. on August 20, they said Prudhomme was dead.
The bank said Prudhomme worked in a less crowded area of the building because he did his job from home, as reported by the Mail.
A worker also told Arizona Central that security at the building rarely checked between cubicles when they were walking around.
The Wells Fargo Workers United union then said bad things about the bank, saying it closely checks how people act at work but did nothing when Prudhomme stopped being active.
