Through the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) program, people in the United States, mostly those who live in Alaska, will get a stimulus check for up to $1,702. Who is going to be able to get financial help? Here are the specifics.
It is one of the most expensive places to live in the world, not just in the United States.
That is why it is always good for people who live there to get extra help, especially now that winter is here. And climate experts say that the coldest weather of the whole cycle is about to start, which means that heating costs will go up for both electricity and gas.
For this state, the PFD only helps the economy once a year because they are required by law to share some of the money they make from oil and mining. Besides that, they have to send payments to help with energy costs.
The Permanent Fund Dividend that was approved for 2024 was $1,403.83, and an extra $198.17 is being added for this energy aid. All together, this is worth $1,702, which is $400 more than what was given out in 2023.
Authorities say that around 600,000 Alaskans will be able to get this money as an economic stimulus before the harsh winter starts, as long as they meet certain requirements.
These eligibility requirements to receive the stimulus check are as followsÂ
- Be a resident of Alaska for the entire 2023 calendar yearÂ
- On the date you applied for the 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend, intend to remain a resident of Alaska indefinitel
- Not have claimed residency in any other state or country nor have I obtained a benefit as a result of a claim of residency in another state or country at any time since December 31, 2022Â Â
- Those who are eligible and have submitted all of their documentation on time will be eligible to receive their payment in the next round, which will be held on November 21, 2024. This will proceed as long as your state is listed as Eligible-Not Paid by November 13.Â
